Marvellous Signature Wings

1/1/2018

I started making these wings when I was a sophomore in Highschool. They quickly became a crowd favorite for my family and friends. Every time my mom’s friend came over with his kids ( I didn’t like them too much lol) I would make them extra spicy, in hopes that they wouldn’t want to eat them, of course they devoured anyway! My mom knew what I was up to, and she would always remind me to “not make them so hot this time.” Of course I didn’t listen lol!

Fast forward to over 15 years later the only thing that has changed with this recipe is the amount of spicy heat. In an effort to make the world a better place I have decided to pass on the recipe for my Marvellous Hot Wings. They are made from sugar and spice and will leave you hungry for more!

The recipe is written per pound.... if you have 2 pounds double it, and so on. It can easily be adjusted to fit your taste as well, you can do what ever you like!

Ingredients:

-1 pound chicken wings
-Sauce:
  • 3/4 cup of your favorite hot sauce• 1 cup of sugar (brown or white)
  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce (optional- if you want a more smoky flavor)
-Seasoning:
  • Garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste
  • I use about 2 table spoons of each (or if you are really ambitions try some creole seasoning)
-Tray/ Pan at least 2 inches tall
-Optional:
  • Ground or Crushed Red Pepper

Directions:
-Preheat oven to 400 degrees
-Wash drumettes and pat dry
-If you have whole wings, separate them in to 2 pieces (I am lazy so I leave this part of the wing on)

-Wings should be saucy, tender and falling off bones, sugar should also be melted and caramelized
-Remove from oven let cool for 5 minutes
-Serve

Caution may be hot from flavor and heat!

Great paired with some form of Potatoes (I usually pair with Cheddar and Bacon Potato boats/skins, Baked Potato, or Potato wedges), and a simple salad (with a ranch or blue cheese dressing... doubles as dip for wings)

XoXo,
Marvell
